About PetNFO

Keeping a pet's health story together

PetNFO exists to help the continuity of a pet's care survive life's changes. It is built for owners and their pets first, and it is meant to be useful even when no vet is involved.

Our story

It started with a lost logbook

The idea comes from the founder's own experience of losing paper pet logbooks, and from a wider problem: moving house, changing vets, breeder handovers and shared family care all break up a pet's history.

We are building a readable, attributable lifetime record that people can keep, share with the right people and carry forward. Better continuity of care and better-informed treatment are our aims. We cannot promise completeness or health outcomes.

Our mission

Free for owners. Centred on the pet.

Owner first

You can create pets, keep history, add documents, set reminders, share with family and export a record, without your vet taking part.

Free for ordinary households

The complete experience is planned to be free. Buying a tag, a listing or anything else is never required to use the app or retrieve a record.

Honest by default

We describe what exists, label what is planned, and avoid claims we cannot show.

How we plan to sustain it

Commercial activity supports the free service

Running PetNFO costs money. The direction we have chosen is to keep the owner app free and sustain it through other services:

  • Optional paid visibility in the pet-care directory, always labelled.
  • Optional services for veterinary practices. These are not practice-management software, and payment never gives access to a pet.
  • Optional extras, such as physical items like tags. These are an idea, not a plan, and are never required.
  • Voluntary supporter contributions.
  • Possibly, owners with unusually many pets, such as breeders, may later be asked to pay for extra capacity.

None of these has a price or a launch date. Payment never buys access to records, verification or an endorsement.

Giving back. We hope to share a portion of commercial income with animal-welfare causes. This is an ambition. The share, the beneficiaries and any charity or non-profit structure have not been decided, and we make no claim about charitable status.

Boundaries

What PetNFO will not become

  • Veterinary practice-management software
  • A social network or a place for public medical records
  • A service that sells identifiable private records
  • A source of veterinary advice, or an official health certificate
NFO Collective

Part of a family of products

PetNFO is part of NFO Collective, the umbrella name for the NFO product family. PetNFO keeps its own name, logo and mission.

NFO Collective's legal form has not been established, and being part of it does not mean products share data or sign-ins.
